I have started to make smaller portions of my
recipes. The reason is that nowadays people live in small condos with small
kitchens. The younger generation is eating healthier with portion control. They
are living alone or share a room with a roommate. The smaller portion meals are
very helpful for a small kitchen and are easier to make. The small batch of
recipes are easier to whip up, especially for some recipes that people do not
want to waste the ingredients if they do not come out right. I like the concept
of baking smaller batches of cakes and cookies that are starting to take hold
of me. Today, I will introduce the old fashioned chocolate chips cookies. This
recipe comes out perfectly fine.
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1 egg
1/4 cup softened butter
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup white sugar
2 tbs brown sugar
A pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 350°.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, beat butter, egg, both
sugars, and vanilla.
Add flour, the pinch of salt, and baking soda
and beat until thoroughly blended.
Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts, if
using nuts.
Use a small ice cream scoop to form the
cookies or drop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15
minutes.
Let cool before serving.
