Currently, chicken is a food with a cost that is not too expensive with today's prices. I would recommend a very easy steamed chicken dish if you don't have time to cook. This recipe can be classified as a one-pot meal, if you use the rice cooker to steam the chicken. This chicken dish uses similar ingredients like the steamed chicken or pork sold in dim sum Chinese restaurants.
Ingredients:
2 chicken legs, skin and bone removed
Marinade ingredients:
1 tbs oyster sauce
1 Hoisin sauce
1 tbs soy sauce
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tbs sugar
1 tsp vinegar
1 tbs cooking wine
1 tsp sesame oil
2 tbs cornstarch
Other ingredients:
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 piece fresh ginger with skin removed and
julienned.
1/2 white onion, sliced
Sliced scallions for a topping
Directions:
Wash chicken with salt and vinegar and cut
into bite-size pieces.
In a bowl, combine all the marinade
ingredients and mix well. Mix the minced garlic and julienned ginger as well
with the other marinade ingredients.
Pour the marinade over the chicken and mix
well. Marinate the chicken for 1 to 2 hours.
Place the white onions on the bottom of a
baking dish and pour the marinated chicken over the onions.
Place the baking dish in the steamer and
steam the chicken for 15 to 20 minutes; Top with the sliced scallions.
Serve with rice. Because there is a lot of
sauce, use this sauce when serving.
Tip: use a baking dish that fits into your rice
cooker to steam chicken while cooking the rice.
