Easy Chocolate Cake

I am not a baker, so I am always looking to find easy cake recipes. Sometimes, I look into an old Reader’s Digest. This magazine has been publishing quite good recipes for many years. Some of them are winning recipes from some other countries’ contests.  What I like the most is always a no-fuss recipe-just like the one presented below. Decorate the cake to make it look fancier to serve, but it still tastes good as is.

Ingredients:
Dry ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ cups sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup cocoa powder
Wet ingredients:
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
2 eggs
1/2 cup brewed coffee
1 tsp vanilla
Store-bought frosting of your choice

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°.
Grease and flour two 9 in. diameter round cake pans.

Combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl.

Combine the wet ingredients in another bowl.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and use a handheld mixer and beat for a few minutes or until combined.

Pour the batter equally evenly the prepared cake pan.

Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let cool on a wire rack completely before frosting.
