Crispy Tofu

Eating without meat does not mean no fun, and the vegetarian salad is not the only meal that vegans can consume. Everyone should feel free to experiment with new products and ways of cooking. The new recipe that I am introducing today is another way for vegans to add to their diets. The tempura dipping sauce that I posted on January 14 is the sauce that will serve perfectly with this recipe. Also, tofu is the best protein source to replace meat for daily meals. I think that changing the way we eat is not just to maintain our health but also to make the world greener. I believe that the easy recipe below for the vegetarian diet would also be good for all people.

Ingredients:
1 lbs . soft tofu, homemade or store-bought
1/4 cup rice flour
2 tbs cornstarch
1/8 tsp salt and black pepper
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
On the side:
Pickled daikon-carrots
Fresh cucumber, tomato
Tempura dipping sauce with hot chili
Oil for deep frying
Green onions for garnish

Directions:
Drain tofu and let dry for half hour.

In a shallow dish, combine rice flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper.

Cut tofu into squares (about 1 inch).

Roll tofu completely into the flour mixture.

In a wok, heat 2 cups of vegetable oil until hot. Carefully drop the tofu into the hot oil.

Do not touch the tofu until golden brown.

Remove fried tofu and drain on the paper towel to absorb any excessive surface oil.
Place tofu on a serving plate. Chop the green onions, sprinkle on top, and serve with dipping sauce.
