Pecan Pie

We are all familiar with the expression, "easy as a pie", and pecan pie is the easiest pie to prepare. Nothing will go wrong with pecan pie. The nutty and sweet flavor will brighten up a dreadful day.
I suggest purchasing store-bought crust to save time and eliminate the scary part of making the dough. Most of the pie dough sold in supermarkets are very good for this kind of pie. This is a truly worry-free pie.

Ingredients:
One 9 inch pie dough
Filling ingredients:
2 cups pecans
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup honey
1/3 cup dark or white corn syrup
2 tsp vanilla
3 eggs, beaten

Directions:
Roll out pie dough and line a 9 inch pie plate.

In a saucepan, heat butter, milk, brown sugar, honey, and syrup. Stir until butter has melted and the sugar begins to dissolve. Remove from heat. Add vanilla.

Let cool for a few minutes until the sugar dissolves completely and then whisk in the beaten eggs. Mix well.

Pour pecans onto the bottom of the dough-lined pie plate.

Neatly arrange the nuts to look nice. Carefully pour the eggs mixture over the nuts.

Bake in a preheated oven set to 375° for 40 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool completely before slicing.

Serve at room temperature with whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream.
