Almost everyone knows the recipe to make cranberry sauce for the
Thanksgiving meal, but most of them do not know that a crock pot is a helpful
tool to create a wonderful cranberry sauce. The night before Thanksgiving,
place all the ingredients for cranberry sauce in a crock pot, and let it slow
cook overnight. Try making a different cranberry sauce from the traditional one, which has the ingredients listed
on the label of the packing bag, by instead making a contemporary sauce that suits your taste. A
crock pot is the right kitchen gadget to help make this sauce.
Ingredients:
12 oz. fresh cranberries
1 red apple, peel and chopped(optional)
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
Orange zest from one orange
1/2 tsp salt
Spices, such as pumpkin spice or cinnamon, can be added
Directions:
Place all the ingredients above in a crock pot. Turn to low from 6 to 8
hours or to high from 3 to 4 hours.
Adjust the sweetness to your taste and add more water if the sauce looks dry. Use a spoon to mash the cranberries,
if you like.
