Quick Sweet Rice Cooked In Rice Cooker

Sweet rice or glutinous rice is popular among Asian cuisines because the rice grains after cooking brings out the sweetness of the rice. Therefore, the sweet rice can be eaten either as a regular meal with meat, or by adding sugar, coconuts and beans, it will be and excellent dessert. Traditionally, this rice has to soak overnight and be steamed over high heat to achieve good results. Because it is time consuming to cook, these wonderful grains don't get a lot of welcome in Western cuisines. Cooks should know that cooking sticky rice in a rice cooker with the right amount of water will produce good results too. I have just the perfect recipe to share with you here.
Equipment:
Rice cooker

After 1 hour, turn the rice cooker on. When it is done, let rice sit for 10 minutes before fluffing the rice with a fork. Enjoy!

*Some rice grains need a little more water, but 2 cups water is perfect for short rice grains.
